Quad City Symphony Orchestra Masterworks I: French Moderns

The Quad City Symphony Orchestra will present its first Masterworks of the season: French Moderns. The program is in honor of the Figge Art Museum’s French Moderns exhibit that runs through Jan. 6, 2019.

The program includes Debussy's "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun," a symphonic poem for orchestra; "Syrinx," for solo flute, and "Nocturnes," an orchestral composition in three movements.

The program also includes "Pictures at an Exhibition, a suite of pieces for the piano by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky with arrangement by Maurice Ravel.

Performers will include QCSO Principal Flute Jessica Warren and the Handel Oratorio Society & Augustana Choral Artists with Jon Hurty.
