Servant Leader Internships

Overview

The Servant Leader Internship program provides Augustana students hands-on experiences in non-profit, faith-based, and/or  government organizations. Students use these paid internships to explore their vocation - who they are called to be. Through reflection on their skills, values, and communities, students will broaden their understanding of possible career choices, interests in professional ministry, or lay a foundation for lifelong commitments to service. We anticipate offering internships with stipends from $500 - $4,000. Internships are generously funded by the Amy Helpenstell Foundation and the Lilly Endowment. Internships may be throughout the academic year and summer. Students will be expected to register their internship for zero-credit with the Registrar.

Previous internship experiences include:

  • Illinois Senator Barack Obama's Office
  • Transitions Rehabilitation Program
  • Lutheran Social Services of Illinois
  • White House - Speaker Hastert's office
  • Quad City Opera
  • Participacion Ciudadana - Quito, Ecuador
