Welcome back from Thanksgiving Break! I hope you had a great and relaxing holiday.
As you may know, the Faculty Senate recently approved new parameters for Learning Communities in an effort to provide more LC opportunities for our students. The new guidelines include pairing traditional 3-credit courses with service learning experiences or with music ensembles; they also expand the definition of community to accommodate different types of groups. If you haven't seen the LC revisions yet, you can read the full Evergreen II document at the General Education Committee's Moodle site (under Faculty Groups):

A number of people have asked me about the possibility of a Learning Community "speed-dating" workshop, similar to the one we held last year, where faculty members interested in offering LCs could meet folks from across campus who have similar interests and are looking for an LC connection. In order to facilitate this, I'd like to ask you to fill out this quick (I promise) survey, to choose which dates work best with your schedule:

If you're not willing or able to attend an LC workshop but are still interested in finding an LC partner for next year, just send me your idea and I'll be happy to get to work making a match. You can also take your idea to any of our intrepid Gen Ed Committee members, listed below.
