London Fall Term (2014)

London is calling.  Spend Fall Trimester in the heart of Britain's heart.

The Fall of 2014, 50 Augustana students will travel to Great Britain for a trimester experience in one of the most dynamic cities in the world.  London will be the backdrop for Augustana courses, group excursions and exploration.  This program will include several forays to different neighborhoods within the British capital, as well as to other cities within Britain.

Academics

Students on this program will have 5 courses to choose from, including four taught by local faculty from the London area.  All students must take no fewer than 3 three-credit courses and the 1-credit ISS Seminar.  All participants will earn a Learning Community through this program.  Course selections include:

ISS International Seminar:  A 1-credit cultural seminar required of all participants and taught by the Augustana Faculty.

SOCIOLOGY 380 (PS): Sociological study of a dynamic, multicultural and diverse city. Taught by Dr. P. Kivisto. 

THEATRE (PA):  Topics in Theatre with a focus on the vibrant theatrical life of London. Taught by local faculty

HISTORY PP):  History of London.  Taught by local faculty.

POLITICAL SCIENCE (PS):  British Politics.  Focus on contemporary British politics and institutions.  Taught by local faculty.

ENGLISH: Creative Writing, with a focus on screenplays for film & television.  Taught by local faculty

 

Calendar: August-November of 2014  (Full Fall Term away)

 

Cost:  2015 Program Fee:  $17,900 (Tentative)

Fees include:  Housing, Weekly food stipend, excursions, local transportation, tuition and international health insurance.

Fees do not include: Airfare, individual excursions or side trips, most meals, discretionary spending.
