Non-Augustana Programs
In addition to our own faculty-led international and off-campus programs, The Office of International and Off-Campus Programs can assist students who are interested in participating in non-Augustana programs. The IOP Office will assist students to find programs of high academic quality and transferable coursework.
In order to enroll and expect transferable credits from a study, intern or service learning program not affiliated with Augustana, you are required to:
Meet with the Director or Associate Director of the IOP to seek academic approval for the program you wish to join. It is important to discuss plans for a non-Augustana program with IOP staff as well as your academic advisor PRIOR TO commitment to participate in a program. Not all programs offer acceptable academic credit and some may not be what they appear on their online materials.
Obtain approval for transfered courses PRIOR TO departure for the international program. Transfer and international credit forms are available from the Registrar or the IOP offices. This process can be time-consuming, requiring signatures from advisors and department chairs. Students who do not consult with appropriate Augustana representatives prior to departure should be prepared for possible difficulties with the transfer of credits back to Augustana.
In recent years, Augustana College students have participated in the programs sponsored by:
