Vikings move to 17th in NCAA Division III men's basketball

After winning two games to open the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin season last week, Augustana jumped up two slots in the latest NCAA Division III national ranking in men's basketball. The D3hoops.com poll has the Vikings, now 12-1 and owners of a six game winning streak, at 17th with 223 points.
Augustana was 19th last week before beating North Park (89-54) and Carthage (68-56) to start the CCIW campaign with back-to-back victories. The Vikings were unranked in the first three weeks before making their debut in week four at 22nd and then they moved to 19th last week.
This week Augustana will play road games at two teams in the top 25. Head coach Grey Giovanine's team will face 22nd ranked Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday, January 9 in Bloomington, Illinois before heading to Naperville, Illinois on Saturday, January 12 to take on number one rated North Central.
