Grading
Augustana uses the 4.0 scale when assigning letter grades:
A+, A = 4.00
A- = 3.67
B+ = 3.33
B = 3.00
B- = 2.67
C+ = 2.33
C = 2.00
C- = 1.67
D = 1.00
F = 0.00
To calculate grade-point averages (GPAs), multiply each grade by the number of credits it represents, and divide the sum by the total number of credits attempted.
3 credits of C+ (3 x 2.33 = 6.99)
1 credit of A (1 x 4 = 4)
10.99 divided by 4 = 2.75 GPA
A student who achieves an accumulated GPA of 2.00 or better is in good standing. A student who falls below a GPA of 2.00 will be placed in one of the following classifications: academic probation, academic suspension, deferred suspension or dismissal.
