Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
in Nursing

Augustana College and the Trinity College of Nursing and Health Sciences offer a combined liberal arts and sciences nursing curriculum leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The pre-professional portion of the curriculum is completed in four years at Augustana College and the professional part at Trinity in Rock Island, Illinois.

Trinity offers students conditional acceptance into its College of Nursing and Health Sciences after their first or second year in the degree curriculum, pending successful completion of the remaining steps while enrolled at Augustana.

These steps include application and interview with a pre-nursing advisor, a minimum 3.0 GPA overall on a 4.0 scale and an interview with Trinity faculty.

Before completing their third year at Augustana, students will be allowed to continue in the program by maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA, sending evaluations to Trinity and finishing all science and general education pre-requisite coursework. At this time they will formally apply toTrinity.

Students who meet the criteria will be granted admission to Trinity for initial nursing skills coursework and clinical experience during June and early July after their third year at Augustana.

Students return to Augustana to complete their fourth year of coursework. The degree of Bachelor of Arts from Augustana College will be granted during spring commencement at the end of this fourth year.

Successful students then are admitted full-time to Trinity for an accelerated fifth year of professional coursework and clinicals beginning in July after graduation from Augustana and resulting in the BSN from Trinity the next summer.
