"I'm a new first year student and I want to sign up for summer registration."Before you can sign up for a Summer Connection day, you need to complete two tasks. First, you need to take your placement tests and complete the Student Readiness Survey. To do this, click on Placement Tests, read the directions, and complete the placement tests (even if you do not intend to take those classes at Augustana) and the survey. After you have completed these steps, you wll receive an email from connection@augustana.edu within one week. The email will include a link where you can submit your date preferences for Summer Connection. You'll receive a confirmation email within one week. |
"I've lost or never received the Summer Connection mailing."Fortunately, all the information that was in the print materials can easily be found. Click here to get to the home page of the site. If you have misplaced the mailing that included your student ID number, please check your email; the Admissions department sent you an email including your ID number at about the same time that you received it in the mail. After completing your placement tests and survey here, you'll receive an email with the link to submit your date preferences for Summer Connection. |
"I am an international student and cannot take the tests."International students should take the Chemistry placement test and submit their information electronically. You do not need to complete a foreign language test unless you intended to study a language other than English while you are here. If you truly cannot access the internet, please contact Jane Tiedge (janetiedge@augustana.edu or 309-794-8980), and she will be happy to assist you. "I would like to look at my Fall schedule."If you have already attended Summer Connection and registered for Fall Term, you may visit the Augustana Arches system, by visiting the campus net at http://offcampus.augustana.edu and clicking on the "Arches" bar on the left menu. You were provided your secure log-in information on a form when you came to campus for Summer Connection. If you have forgotten your password, you should contact the help desk in Information Technology Services (helpdesk@augustana.edu or 309-794-7293). |
"I need proof of enrollment (for insurance)."Only students who are registered for the Fall term can get a proof of enrollment form. Please contact the Office of the Registrar at (309-794-7277) and one of the staff members will be happy to assist you. This form will not have a class schedule on it, only proof of enrollment. Students who will register in August can obtain a form from the Office of the Registrar once they come to campus. |
"I want to change my class schedule."Please do not make changes to your Fall schedule without consulting the Director of First Year Advising, Mary Windeknecht, marywindeknecht@augustana.edu. If you mistakenly drop a class on Arches that you need to be in, it may be difficult or impossible to get back into that class after you have realized your mistake. During Fall Connection you will meet with your First Year Advisor. This is the best opportunity to change and add classes. "I have questions about AP credits."If we have received the official copies of your AP score from the College Board and the score and test are acceptable by Augustana (click here to find out what the college accepts: http://www.augustana.edu/x10878.xml ), we will post the score on your student record and you can view the credit on your record on Arches. If we do not have your official score at the time of registration, we will register you according to the scores that you report to us. In this case, if we later receive your scores and they are not high enough to receive credit, we will contact you using your new Augustana e-mail address, and you and your advisor can make any necessary adjustments to your schedule at Fall Connection. If you did not arrange to have scores sent to Augustana, you need to contact College Board and have the official scores sent, as we do not accept hand-delivered transcripts: an official scoring transcript must be received in order for credit to appear on your student record. |
"I have questions about transfer credits."If we have received official copies of your transcripts from the previous institution, all graded work of "C" or better has been attached to the student record and can be viewed on Arches. We only accept official transcripts mailed directly to Augustana from the institution, as federal law prohibits accepting hand-delivered transcripts even if they are in a sealed envelope. If you have questions, please call the Registrar (309-794-7277). |
