Guitar lessons at Augustana

It is not too late to register for Spring term guitar lessons. If interested, you can enroll through arches starting today, Feb. 5th, through Thursday, Feb. 14th. Arches can also be used to add from Saturday, March 2nd, through Tuesday, March 5th. After that a paper add slip can be used from Wednesday, March 6th, through Monday, March 11th.

Lessons are offered every term of the school year and are open to all students regardless of major. Also, lessons are individual, not in a group. Students must have their own instrument and there are a limited number of guitars for rent at a local music shop. Assistance with the rental process will be provided if needed. Students will learn to develop appropriate technique and learn to read music, if you don't know how already. Scales and chords are also studied along with other technique building exercises.

Registration is for MULS 100-400-GTR and is done through arches. Students who enroll for one credit have a 30 minute lesson, one day per week and for two credits a one hour lesson, one day per week. If a student wants to enroll for 2 credits in arches you need to delete the 1 and enter a 2 in the credit hour section. Lessons do not cause an overload of credits.  Lesson times are arranged according to the student's schedule and Mr. Pobanz's teaching schedule.

His office is at the music annex and the address is 3816 6th Avenue, Rock Island. It is on the corner of 6th Ave. and the alley behind Sorensen Hall.
