Study music in Paris with Dr. Randall Hall

Dr. Randall Hall, professor of music, is the program leader for the January term Music in Paris program.

Students interested in traveling to France in January 2023 are invited to an informational meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 22 in Lindberg 201.

In MUSC 302: Music of Paris (PA), students will study music from the Middle Ages to the 20th century by learning pieces written in and around Paris, the composers who wrote them, and the musical techniques they used.

Students will explore Paris by visiting its monuments, museums, and markets, learning to live in the city to better understand the draw it has had on artists, writers, and thinkers for centuries.

The group will visit Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, Chartres Cathedral,
Sainte-Chappelle, the Abbey of Saint Pierre Solesmes, and many more.
