Yoga, mindfulness and meditation Nov. 16-20

The Office of International Student and Scholar Services will sponsor a week of yoga, mindfulness and breathing meditation Nov. 16-20 to celebrate International Education Week.

Leading the sessions will be Shubhangi Garg, a certified yoga instructor with three years of yoga training from Swami Anandanand Academy in India, specializing in meditation.

She has been teaching yoga at Augustana for the past two years. Garg owns of Let’s Talk Fitness  yoga studio in Bettendorf, and is a re-certified specialized yoga instructor from Indigo yoga and wellness center in Moline. She is a board member of Yoga Alliance of Quad cities.

Sessions will be offered from 5-6 p.m. Nov. 16, 17, 18 and 20, and from from 4-5 p.m. Nov. 19.

International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education promotes programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences.
