Faculty training and support
Center for Faculty Enrichment (CFE) - The CFE supports the professional development of Augustana faculty of all types, ranks, and career stages. You can find resources archived on the CFE Moodle page.
Pivot Pedagogy Moodle Site - This asynchronous Moodle course was designed to support faculty in designing courses for the 2020/21 academic year grounded in strong pedagogical principles and with maximum flexibility. You will find lots here, including resources on assessment, active learning, building community, and technologies to support teaching and learning.
Kognito for Faculty & Staff - This evidence-based 45 minute training and simulation equips you with tools to recognize students in distress and connect them with the resources they need. To complete the Kognito training, create a new account at kognitocampus.com. Use the enrollment key "acemployee" and launch "At Risk for Faculty and Staff." There is also a Kognito training available for students.
ITS support - For ITS-related questions and support needs, please submit work order at helpdesk.augustana.edu or email firstname.lastname@example.org. In an emergency contact ITS directly at 309-794-7293. You can also check your Google calendar for drop-in virtual office hours with ITS.
Employee Assistance Program - This free resource for all Augustana employees provides mental health counseling for stress, anxiety, depression, job-related distress, substance use, family concerns, and so on.
Student support resources
Connecting to Resources - A one-stop shop for students for information on campus resources to support them whether they are learning on campus or remotely.
Referral Guide - Printable resource with contact information for students to connect with a variety of campus resources
Kognito for Students - This evidence-based training for students prepares them to have real-life conversations with peers in distress and connect them with support. To complete the Kognito training, students can create a new account at kognitocampus.com. Use the enrollment key "acstudent" and launch "At Risk for Students." You can assign this skill-building training to students in your course by talking with Bill Iavarone or Farrah Roberts.
TAO Connect - This self-help resource provides a variety of mental health resources including a mindfulness library, daily practice and journaling, and mental health education modules. Everyone with an @augustana.edu email address can sign up for this service. You can even assign educational modules in your courses like the Let Go and Be Well: ACT for General Well-Being and Resilience. Contact Bill Iavarone if you are interested in integrating this into your course.
