If you have information that you would like to disseminate to all employees, please send that to email@example.com and we will coordinate adding the information to a future HR update.
For now, we would ask that you limit any mass communications to avoid confusion.

Opportunity to help International students
Dear members of the Augustana College community,
During the town hall meeting last week I announced an initiative to help international students who must remain on campus this summer. Many of you reached out and were interested in knowing more, so I write to share the details.
As you know, this spring Augustana continued to house and feed nearly 120 international students. These students were unable to return home or elected to remain on campus to guarantee access to technology needed to ensure their education was not disrupted.
Some of the students are returning home now, but nearly 70 international students must remain on campus for the summer because borders remain closed and emergency flights are infrequent and incredibly expensive because of issues related to COVID-19.
Augustana is doing everything possible to care for and serve these students, including:
• offering a significantly reduced rate for on-campus lodging
• maintaining supplies in Campus Cupboard, the college’s free student food bank, as the Gerber Center dining hall is closed
• meeting the needs of those who request aid for emergency circumstances, such as medical issues
In an effort to provide access to fresh food and ensure food security for these international students who must remain on campus, Augustana College will work with local grocers, identify potential institutional funds and inspire alumni and others to support these students by sponsoring a $500 grocery gift card. This is an unplanned expense for the college at a challenging time.
Some of you mentioned wanting to directly support students living on campus this summer, especially international students, so I am providing the link for giving here.
Thank you for all you do to support our students and for your ongoing support of Augustana College. Please let me know if you have any questions.
W. Kent Barnds
Executive Vice President for External Relations
The Illinois Stay at Home Order made our traditional campus wide celebration not possible.
We would like to give a round of applause to all of our 2020 retirees and a huge thank you for their continued services over the years here at Augustana.
With graduation celebrations in full swing, please help us celebrate the class of 2020 for several community members.
We love hearing about your recent graduates, so please send your pictures and information to email@example.com so we can share the good news!
