Montana: The Gift of Simplicity

Spend J-Term exploring the religious and spiritual concept of simplicity as you live in the beautiful Flathead Lake region of Montana, living in heated cabins, visiting with local Salish Kootenai Tribal and Amish communities, the St. Ignatius Jesuit Mission, and the National Bison Range.

The program is split into two courses, with students enrolling in a two credit Fall semester course and a two credit January term course, so that your reading and background study is complete before you leave for Big Sky Country, and you can focus while you are there on the experiences and people you encounter.  The combination of the two courses will provide students with a greater understanding of concepts of simplicity as well as PH and a D credit.

Program includes 14 days in Montana and two days of train travel.

Eligibility and program cap: Requires sophomore status and a 2.00 GPA to participate. The Fall semester course is a required prerequisite for any student who wishes to travel in January.

Course(s) and credits: Students must enroll in both RELG 357 (fall semester) and RELG 358 (January) Each is a two credit course.  The combined program of two courses will provide students with a PH and a D credit.
