Financial aid

The primary forms of financial aid for the summer term are loans and grants.

  • The Federal Direct Loan Program-students who have not used their entire loan eligibility for the academic year may be eligible to borrow the remainder of their loan eligibility for summer.
  • Private Education Loans-students may qualify for a private loan. A credit worthy co-signer is required
  • Federal Parent PLUS Loans-Parents may be eligible to borrow through the PLUS loan for summer.
  • Federal Pell Grants-students may be eligible for grant assistance through the Pell Grant program.

Augustana institutional funds are not available for summer. Contact the Office of Financial Aid at 309-794-7449 to determine if you are eligible to borrow through the loan or grant programs.

If you are receiving federal financial aid for the summer term, it is vital to check with financial aid before dropping a course. Federal regulations could result in your owing the college if you withdraw from a course, or fail to begin a course for which you have registered.

College Consortium pre-approved transfer courses

Augustana students have the option of enrolling in pre-approved online transfer courses from other four-year colleges and universities through College Consortium.  Consortium courses are designated in Arches online enrollment with the section CC.  These sections indicate the transfer equivalent for College Consortium Courses. Students can register for College Consortium courses online

If you are searching for a specific course to meet general education or major/minor requirements and do not find the course listed on the College Consortium site, contact Mary Palomaki, Advisor and Transfer Coordinator, who can work with you to identify other course offerings.

Augustana helps facilitate the enrollment and billing process for College Consortium courses; however, students enrolled in College Consortium courses become students at the partnering institution for the duration of the course and are subject to that institution’s policies and procedures.

As with other transfer courses, students should complete the petition to transfer credit form on Arches prior to the start date of the course. After the completion of the pre-approved course, students should arrange to have the official transcripts sent directly to Augustana from the other institution by mail or by official e-delivery. The Office of the Registrar has complete information on transferring coursework.
