2021-22 FAFSA information

Students can file the 2021-22 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as early as Oct. 1.

For students enrolling in the fall of 2021, families will report income information from 2019. Families will not be required to update with 2020 information.

Items to consider in preparation of the FAFSA

• The student and at least one parent must register to receive an FSA ID. Although families may apply for an FSA ID at the time they complete the FAFSA, Augustana encourages applying earlier. The FSA ID is used to electronically sign the FAFSA.

• Augustana's preferred filing date is no later than Nov. 1 for FAFSA completion. The college recommends students complete the FAFSA as soon after Oct. 1 as possible.

• The Office of Financial Aid strongly encourages using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool when completing the FAFSA, to minimize errors and meet requirements for verification (if requested).
