International Student Orientation

Aug. 11-15, 2018

International Student Orientation is designed to provide you with an introduction to Augustana College, Rock Island and the Quad-Cities. Attendance is required for all international students.

We also host an optional orientation for parents Aug. 10  for them to learn more about what they can expect from your Augustana education and experience.  (The hotels and motels on this list offer discount for Augustana visitors.)

  • Meeting and working with student peer leaders, also known as Global Ambassadors
  • Meetings with campus administrators

    • Residential life staff
    • Library staff
    • Dining services staff
  • Living on campus
  • Purchasing textbooks
  • Finding a job on campus
  • Life in the Quad Cities
  • Numerous special events, outings, tours and dinners
  • U.S. culture and lifestyles

There will be one day where international students shop at a local shopping mall. Social events are planned for international students to get to know each other, as well as American students. There is no cost for ISO nor a cost for moving onto campus early.
