Summer orientation schedules and events
Due to the pandemic, all previously scheduled in-person Orientation and Registration events have been canceled.
We are instead offering a variety of virtual sessions for students and parents.
These sessions will include information on:
• The liberal arts
• Housing and dining
• Financial aid and billing
• Diversity, equity and inclusion
• Student success
• Safety and well-being
These sessions will equip students and parents with the information they need to be prepared for the fall. Parents and students will sign up for separate events tailored to them (see schedules below).
The events below are separate from your virtual advisor meeting to discuss your fall class schedule. You should plan to participate in both.
Here's another great reason to join the student events below! At each student event, we will give away $50 in Viking Bucks to one attendee. If you participate in five of the six events, your name will be entered into a drawing for free textbooks for the fall semester. If you participate in all six events, your name will be entered three times into the drawing for free books for fall!*

|June 4||7:00 p.m.||Welcome & Welcome Week||Join our Peer Mentors (current students) to learn about Welcome Week and participate in a virtual activity with your new classmates!|
|June 18||7:00 p.m.||An Inclusive Augie Starts with You||Join the Office of Student Inclusion and Diversity and PACE mentors (current students) for a virtual trivia night.|
|July 9||7:00 p.m.||Intro to CORE & Career Development||Learn about CORE: Careers, Opportunities, Research and Exploration. Join the Career Development folks for a fun activity.|
|July 23||7:00 p.m.||Virtual BINGO||Play virtual Bingo with the Office of Student Life and Leadership (OSL) and your new classmates!|
|Aug. 20||7:00 p.m.||Wellness Event: Well-being, IM Sports and Rec||Join a Wellness event, sponsored by Well-Being & Resiliency and Intramural Sports and Recreation.|
Parents will attend two sessions. The two different sessions are repeated in May, June and July. Register for the dates most convenient for you.
The following presentations will be offered live via Zoom, a virtual meeting platform. You'll hear from staff in each of these offices and have a chance to ask questions.
