Announcement 3/23/2020: The Special Collections reading room is closed and all Special Collections employees are working remotely.  We will continue to provide research/reference service via email, but please understand that without access to our physical holdings our ability to answer questions will be limited.  To communicate with us at this time, we ask that you use email only: specialcollections@augustana.edu.


 

Hours

Regular hours: When classes are in session, the Special Collections reading room is open to the public Monday through Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  During academic breaks, the reading room is open Monday through Thursday from 1:00-4:30 p.m.  During the summer recess, the reading room is open by appointment only.

The Special Collections reading room is closed for all campus-wide holidays and closed in observance of the fall and winter Symposium Days and spring Celebration of Learning.  See https://www.augustana.edu/academics/calendars for the current academic calendar.

To inquire about accessing materials outside of our open hours, please contact us well in advance of your planned research visit. Appointments are not available on weekday evenings or weekends.  Priority for private appointments will be given to current Augustana College students and faculty.

Special Collections welcomes inquiries about our materials, Augustana history, and topics related to our collections. You do not have to be a member of the Augustana community in order to use or inquire about our resources.

In person: Special Collections is located on the first floor of the Thomas Tredway Library. Walk-in visits to view items of interest are welcome. Our open hours are listed above.
