DESCRIPTION:The Augustana Symphonic Band and Augustana Concert Band will showcase the the spring 2018 Wind Conducting Class.\n\nAs the assignment for the class\, each student chooses a&nbsp\;band composition\, rehearses the piece throughout the spring term\, and then conducts that piece at the joint concert as well as prelude music for the Commencement ceremony.\n\nThis year’s students and the pieces they will be conducting:\n\nLexie Aguilar\, conducting “Journey through Orion” &nbsp\;by Julie Giroux. &nbsp\;Aguilar is a junior music performance and french major from LeClaire\, Iowa.\n\nDouglas Ganster\, conducting “Havendance” by David Holsinger. Ganster is a junior music composition and business administration and management major from Braidwood\, Ill.\n\nBecky Hobson\, conducting “Bayou Breakdown” by Brandt Karrick. Hobson &nbsp\;is a junior music performance and pre-occupational therapy major from Hartland\, Wis.\n\nKellen Myers\, conducting “Tempered Steel” by Charles Young. Myers is a junior music composition major from Davenport\, Iowa.\n\nAndre Rivera\, conducting “Festal Scenes” by Yasuhide Ito. Rivera is a junior music education major from Antioch\, Ill.\n\nCaitlin Thom\, conducting “Danish Folk Music” by Percy Grainger. Thom is a senior music performance major from Bettendorf\, Iowa.\n&nbsp\;\n
