DESCRIPTION:The Department of Chemistry will hold its annual open house for people of all ages from 1-4 p.m.\n\nChemistry faculty and students will perform and explain&nbsp\;many different chemistry demonstrations such as explosions and color changes. There will also be a hands-on room for children with household materials.&nbsp\;Some labs will be open for viewing.\n\nSchedule\n\nShows\n\nRoom 304\n2 p.m.: Kaptain Kinetics with Dr. Greg Domski\n3 p.m.: Dr. Freeze Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream with &nbsp\;Dr. Dell Jensen and Mark Curtis\n\nDemonstrations (running continuously)\n\nRoom 328 (children’s room)\nHands-on activities with Dr. Patrick Crawford and Brady Fische&nbsp\;&nbsp\; &nbsp\;\n\nRoom 425\nGrowling Gummy Bears\nElephant Toothpaste\nMovie Blood&nbsp\;\nGenie in a Bottle\n\nRoom 420\nNon-Burning Dollar Bill&nbsp\;\nFlame Tests Metal Salts\nFlaming Watermelon\nCollapsing Crushing Pop Cans\nBriggs-Rauscher Reaction\n\nThe open house is sponsored by the Augustana College Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society and the Augustana Department of Chemistry.\n
