DESCRIPTION:Dr. Andrew Sward will present information about a math research opportunity for students as Beling Scholars.\n\nThe Beling Professorship was created in 1998 with a gift from the estate of Earl and Lucille Beling. Distributions from the fund support participation of Augustana students as Beling Scholars\, with an emphasis on engaging with and presenting mathematics research.\n\nBeling Scholars will work under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Sward during the 2018-2019 academic year on projects that interest them\, which will culminate in presentations at the Illinois Section Meeting of the Mathematical Association of America in the spring of 2019\, and the national MathFest conference in the summer.\n\nIf you are interested in becoming a Beling Scholar\, or would like to learn more about the program\, attend this meeting to find out more and how to apply.\n\nDr. Sward is an assistant professor of mathematics and holds the endowed Earl H. Beling Chair of Mathematics.\n
