Evans\, who died in 2014\, was a 1974 graduate of Augustana college.\n\nPresident Barack Obama has prepared a special video greeting for the gathering\, which will include U.S. Rep. Jan Shakowsky\, D-9th\, former senator and presidential candidate&nbsp\;Fred Harris of Oklahoma\, columnist and political activist Jim Hightower\, William McNary\,&nbsp\;co-executive director of Citizen Action/Illinois\, and Thomas Frank\, author of "What's the Matter with Kansas?"\n\nRegistration begins at noon\, and the program at 1 p.m.\n\nThe forum&nbsp\;is sponsored by the Lane Evans Legacy Project\,&nbsp\;Augustana College Democrats\, and&nbsp\;Quad Cities Interfaith.\n\nEvans was the first Democrat to be re-elected in the 17th Congressional District of Illinois since the Civil War.\n
