DESCRIPTION:The annual Homecoming Trash Dash is being hosted by Sierra Club on Sunday\, Sept. 21\, from 12-3 p.m. on the patio outside of the Brew.Trash Dash is a competition that is hosted each semester by the Augustana Sierra Club\, andthis specific event is an opportunity to win homecoming points for your student organization. Participants will pick up garbage and litter from campus and the surrounding community for two hours. At the end of the two hours\, we will reconvene and weigh each team's collection of trash and determine the winner (whoever has the highest weight of trash).Student organizations that participate in the Homecoming competition have the opportunity to earn homecoming points for participating in this event. Each student organization can have a maximum of three teams of five people each (all five people must participate and be present at both check-in and weighing the trash). Each team will automatically earn 10 points for their organization if they participate fully (meaning a maximum of 30 participation points per student organization). The winning team (with the most trash in weight) will earn an extra 20 homecoming points for their student organization. This means that the maximum amount of points your student organization can earn is 50 homecoming points.Augustana’s Sierra Club is excited to see participants from various groups help clean our campus!Materials (trash bags + gloves) will be provided by the Sierra Club.
