Augie Sweethearts: Jill Foley '92 and Michael Foley '91

It was July 1988 when I received a letter in the mail from Mike Foley introducing himself as my peer advisor and welcoming me to Augustana. He wrote he was a junior pre-med student at Augustana and was going to be there to help me through the week of freshmen orientation. 

My very first day at Augustana, I left my parents in Centennial Hall to find my group, group 23, and it was then, September 2, 1988 that I unknowingly met my husband for the first time. It was shortly after the orientation week when Mike asked me on our first date. He continued to advise and help me through the rest of my Augie years and even now. We were married June 1996 and hold fondly all of our Augie memories where it all started. And yes, we proved the legend true; Mike kissed me under the bell tower!
