Augie Sweethearts: Katie Gough-Edwards and Patrick Edwards, Class of 2007

We met almost 11 years ago! I was out with my CAP and Speed roommates in the District. Patrick had been back in Naperville at his parent's home for the weekend to attend a career fair in the Chicagoland area and on whim decided to head back to Augie and out to the bars to meet friends. It was fate that we would meet that night when he approached our group of friends, mentioned he didn't see us with the normal Augie guys we would go out with it, and asked if he could buy me a drink. What college senior says no to a free drink? I accepted and the rest is history!

I sent him a Facebook message (remember Facebook was still very new to us in 2007) and thanks to Facebook it's still out there (and corny as ever). We started hanging out and it was on St. Patrick's day in the middle of STIGMA he asked if I would go out to dinner with him as his girlfriend! Fast forward to dating for years in the Chicagoland area, career changes, I moved to Ohio for a promotion in 2012 and he followed me there in 2013. On February 22, 2014 he proposed in Naperville, Ill., in the most romantic way possible and on October 22, 2014 we were married in the most magical place in the world - Disney World! 

Eleven years later from the day we met we built our first home in Mason, Ohio and now have two beautiful baby girls - Gabriella (22 months) and Grace (2 months). If it weren't for Augie we wouldn't be here!
