Augie Sweethearts: Sara Kumpula '06 and Josh Kumpula '04

Josh and I met as members of the Augustana Symphonic Band. We knew each other for about a year before we started dating. We were both music education members, as well as members of the ASB.

We found ourselves spending more and more time together as we student-led the Augie Pep Band, served as board members of the CMENC (now NAfME) chapter, and spent many hours a day in Bergie.

We were married on July 12, 2008. The musicians at our wedding were none other than our fellow ASB members. We now both teach band and regularly catch Augustana Symphonic Band concerts, whether on campus or when the band is near us on tour!
