Augie Sweethearts: Connor Lagman '15 and Hannah Klindera '16
Submitted by Connor Lagman of Bath, Mich.
In the fall of 2013, I was a Junior CA in TLA and Hannah was a Sophomore CA in Erickson. As a TLA CA, we covered desks shifts in the dorms from time to time. For many of those times, Hannah was on duty the same night I would be covering the front desk. Being the high-quality res life colleague she was, Hannah would bring me popcorn when passing by on rounds and I would tell her exciting stories of life beyond the dorms.
Our friendship grew into other campus groups and activities like intramural sports, charity events, or even just grabbing a snack in the CC between classes. One year and cardboard regatta championship later, I was a senior and we had become inseparable. The occasional snack in the CC became a daily routine and she was on the executive board of the student organization I founded two years prior.
Despite the one-year difference, my graduation didn’t seem to interfere at all. Hannah found a way to graduate one term early and it was off to Minnesota to join her front desk buddy for good. Since then, we’ve bounced around the Midwest and most recently landed in East Lansing, Michigan, where Hannah finishes up her Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology at Michigan State.
I don’t have any proof, but something tells me that Hannah being on duty nearly every night I worked the front desk wasn’t always a coincidence. Whether it was fate or a well-executed scheme, we’re still to this day very much inseparable and looking forward to what journey life takes us on next...
