Augie Sweethearts: Shannon Pahlicek '08 and Elizabeth Pahlicek '07

Beth and I met by chance when the music fraternity SAI was preparing for the homecoming sing performance. I was called in to teach the group some body percussion to accompany the singing and Beth was busy plucking out melodies on the piano.

Despite being in opposing ensembles each afternoon (ASB and Augie Choir) and Beth leaving for Africa for a foreign term, we got to know each other during SAI meetings and the magic of the AIM instant messenger.

We fell in love and the rest is history! After a 10 year relationship and one important Supreme Court decision, we were finally able to be married in April 2017. We are so thankful that Augustana brought us together in addition to the amazing, well-rounded education we received.
