Augie Sweethearts: Susan Sohl and Jeff Swanberg, Class of 1980

Jeff "Swan" and I met fall 1977 working in the dish room together at Westerlin Hall. While "courting" he would wrap his arms around me as I sorted the silverware and sing "You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille" sending all the lunch ladies to tittering (he was no music major)! Our first date was KE fall informal, a Halloween costume party, Swan a Poobah.

Over the years we kissed beneath the bell tower, walked the slough, drank at Lees and played Euchre at the Hilltop. We spent fall our junior year in Europe on study abroad program. How could we not find love?! We were married June 21, 1980, four weeks after we graduated. Almost 38 years later, we make our home in Massachusetts, Jeff a partner in local CPA firm and I retired after almost 20 years with the American Red Cross. We have two fabulous grown children, who do us proud! Thanks for the intro Augie!
