Michael Davis is a former multimedia journalist who worked for Midwest newspapers and magazines before entering academia. He has seven years of collegiate teaching experience in strategic communication and multimedia journalism at the universities of Missouri and Iowa, respectively.

His current dissertation research examines the precarious nature of the journalism field and those who leave it for other professions, specifically in the nonprofit sector.

Outside of teaching and research, Davis likes to spend time with his son, Luka; attend University of Iowa sporting events; and explore the local arts community.
