Our favorite time of year
Fall might be our favorite season. From football to walks through bright foliage, there are plenty of ways to enjoy fall on Augustana’s campus.
Fall means time for all things cozy.
Chunky sweaters, oversized sweatshirts, turtlenecks and fuzzy socks are go-tos in my fall wardrobe. Stop in at the bookstore and grab some new fall Augie gear to keep you warm!
The campus is simply beautiful during the fall.
Orange, red and yellow leaves fill the sidewalks. One of my favorite sights on campus is the Slough. Walking along the Slough on a crisp fall morning sometimes makes me feel like I am in a movie. Be sure to snap a picture-perfect photo for the annual #FallingForAugie photo competition!
Pumpkin spice and everything nice?
Whether you are a pumpkin spice or apple cider fan, there are lots of places to get your fall fix. Warm up and study by stopping at the Brew. My favorite drink for fall is a pumpkin spice latte with almond milk. Other great places near campus to grab some energy for studying include:
• Cool Beanz Coffee House ~ 2-minute drive
• Kick Serve Coffee ~ 5-minute drive
• Awake Coffee Company ~ 5-minute drive
Fun fall experiences in the QCA
Ready, set, hike! Football is the perfect way to get some excitement in the fall. The QCA is home to several great places to watch football, from college football to the NFL. Some of these places include:
• Brandon's Pub and Grille in Rock Island ~ 3-minute walk
• Armored Gardens in Davenport, Iowa ~ 8-minute drive
• Public House in Davenport, Iowa ~ 18-minute drive
The farmers' market is a must on the weekends. At thest two markets, you can find a variety of handcrafted items as well as your favorite foods for the fall. I particularly like apple cider donuts from both markets.
Head out this weekend to either the Freight House Farmers' Market in Davenport, Iowa (~ 9-minute drive) or the QC Farmers Market in Rock Island (~ 7-minute drive).
However you like to spend your fall, Augustana College and the QCA have it all!
