Seth McKnight

Visiting Assistant Professor of Music

Seth N. McKnight is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Education at Augustana College, specializing in assessment and general music education, and teaches first-year students in the First Year Inquiry sequence.

Dr. McKnight's research interests include elementary music teachers' planning times, duties, and schedules, the concerns of closeted LGBTQIA+ low brass students, and informal music learning. He has presented his research at the National and State levels.

Dr. McKnight taught elementary general music for seven years in the North Carolina public schools. Prior to Augustana, he taught graduate and undergraduate music education courses at Western Illinois University. He holds professional memberships in the National Association for Music Education, the Illinois Music Education Association, the College Music Society, and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
