Paige Kern, an Augustana Noyce Grant Scholar, received first place in the STEM Education division for her poster "Comparison of Floating Treatment Wetland (FTW) models for secondary classroom use,'" at the Illinois State Academy of Science annual meeting April 18. Her project was supported by the Noyce Grant and an Augustana Student Research Grant. (An FTW is a "raft" of plants that can be added to a body of water to increase uptake of nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorous.)
