Read Local: "The Stories We Tell"

Meg Gillette, associate professor of English, will read selections from "The Stories We Tell: Modernism in the Tri-Cities" at the Bettendorf Public Library's Read Local program.

The book (edited by Gillette) is a compilation of the work of authors such as Alice French, Susan Glaspell and Arthur Davison Ficke, as well as related essays by a group of senior English majors at Augustana. Gillette will discuss how the included writers reinvented the Tri-Cities in the late 19th and early 20th centuries into one of America's foremost literary centers.
