Art exhibition opening and talk: Whimsy

The Augustana Teaching Museum of Art will hold an opening reception for an exhibit of works from the permanent collection with the theme of whimsy.

There will be a curator talk at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

The exhibit includes an eclectic mix of cultures and media including paintings, drawings, ceramics and tapestries. There are works by Warhol, Matisse, Chagall and Calder, plus Inuit and Native American art, inkwells, contemporary Swedish art, and mid-century painting.
