Semester in Tanzania info meeting

An informational meeting will be held about Augustana's first Semester Abroad in Tanzania, Africa, in spring semester 2021.

Students in this program will spend 15 weeks at Tumaini University, Makamira, near Mt. Kilimanjaro.

They will take take three courses:

  • Music & Culture in Africa (MUSC305, PH, G) taught by Dr. John Pfautz
  • Cultural Psychology (PSYC426, PS, G) taught by Dr. Jayne Rose
  • Intercultural Understanding (AFSP380) taught by faculty in Tanzania

Students also will participate in an internship (up to 4 credits) tailored to their academic interests.

The trip includes a hike and tour of local sites around Arusha, a three-day, two-night safari at Ngoro Ngoro Crater and a music festival in Zanzibar.
