Campus closed Monday, March 16

Augustana College’s campus is closed Monday, March 16, due to weather conditions. This includes all athletic and evening activities, PepsiCo Recreation Center and Thomas Tredway Library.

Dining services will remain open on a regular schedule.

Global Spotlight: Humanitarian crisis in Tigray, Ethiopia

Students, faculty and guests will conduct a panel discussion on the humanitarian crisis caused by the ongoing civil war in Ethiopia.

Speakers will include Dr. Umme Al-Wazedi and Dr. John Tawiah-Boateng, Augustana associate professors of English; Petros Shumie and Daniel Woldu from Omna Tigray, a group which advocates for the end of the war; and Tekste Gebreselasse, representing the Tegaru community in Chicago.

Student panelists will include Mulualem Hailom and Shenela Ranaraja from Augustana; Meron Kiros, Lakehead University; and Eden Gebremariam, George Washington University.

The panel is sponsored by the Office of International Student and Scholar Services, and is expected to conclude at 6 p.m.
