Frieze Lecture: 'Transpacific Perspectives on American Democracy'
Dr. Liza Lawrence, assistant professor of history, will present on "Transpacific Perspectives on American Democracy."
This year's Frieze Lecture series theme is "Democracy in America." The series will wrap up shortly after the Nov. 5 general election, in which voters will elect the President, 34 U.S. Senators and all 435 Members of Congress.
The Frieze Lecture series is a 27-year partnership between the Rock Island Public Library and Augustana College to present four talks in the fall. Lectures are from 2-3 p.m. Tuesdays at the Rock Island Main Library, 401 19th St., Downtown Community Room.
