Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies 40th anniversary celebration
The Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program will celebrate its 40th anniversary and the official launch of its new gallery-lounge space. All are welcome to join for refreshments, camaraderie and coalition-building.
An open house begins at 4:30 and there will be special remarks at 5 p.m.
Augustana College’s collection of arpilleras are currently on display in the WGSS gallery-lounge in an exhibit curated by students in Dr. Chris Strunk’s Geography of Latin America. Chilean women created these arpilleras to chronicle their lives during the authoritarian dictatorship of General Augosto Pinochet from 1973-1990.
