Anonymous donor pays tuition balances for 18 students

For the third consecutive year, an anonymous donor has cleared the end-of-semester tuition balances of Augustana College juniors and seniors. This year’s gift of $50,000 benefited 18 students.

“This donor is helping 16 seniors as well as two juniors, including domestic and international students, end the semester with less stress by removing financial barriers,” said Jon Enslin, vice president for college advancement. “We’re grateful for the incredible generosity of alumni and friends of Augustana who see the value in supporting students in continuing their educational journey.”

Each year the Office of College Advancement raises $14 million to support Augustana students and programs. The Augustana Fund raises between $2 million to $2.5 million annually to support student success.

In addition to gifts to the Augustana Fund, the college has received $19.1 million in gifts to support Augustana Possible, the innovative financial aid program that meets 100% of demonstrated financial need. More than 1,800 gifts from alumni and college supporters have been made, with funds being matched through the Gerber Grand Challenge.

“Seeing students receive the support they need in and outside the classroom to achieve their dreams and advance their life and career goals is incredible,” Enslin said. “We’re incredibly grateful to generous donors at this time of year and always who believe in the mission and vision of an Augustana education.”

Augustana awards scholarships and grants based on academics, talents and/or interests to 100% of its students. Learn more at www.augustana.edu/giving.
