Augustana names two new trustees
Augustana College announces the election of two members of the college’s Board of Trustees. Robert Anderson and Ronald Workman, both 1980 Augustana graduates, were elected Jan. 27 at the college’s winter retreat, held in Rock Island.
The new members will provide valuable insights as the college launches its new strategic plan, Augustana Bold and Boundless.
“We welcome Bob and Ron to our outstanding Board of trustees, which stewards the college as we address the challenges and opportunities of today and build Augustana’s future,” said President Andrea Talentino.
Anderson studied accounting and economics at Augustana and earned his master’s in business administration from Harvard University. He is co-chairman and principal of Birtcher Anderson & Davis. He has served as president of Birtcher Anderson Properties, Inc., since 1992.
“The opportunity to be a trustee for Augustana promises to be an eye-opening experience for me — getting to work in concert with a group of folks that, while large and diverse, all share the same interest in making the college the best it can be, both today and into the future,” Anderson said.
Workman studied accounting and business administration at Augustana and earned his master’s in business administration from DePaul Driehaus College of Business. He retired as chief data officer for Experian in 2022. Previously he served as senior vice president of Global Corporate Development and ADP Dealer Services, ADP (1984-2014).
“From the foundational education, personal growth and many longstanding relationships, Augustana provided me with a transformational life experience,” Workman said. “Serving on the board is an opportunity to pay it forward and ensure continued success for generations to come.”
