My Augustana Story: Katie Griswold
As a new student, Katie Griswold auditioned for and accepted to the Augustana Choir, which, she says "was a big, big thing for me."
That first taste of music performance at the college level encouraged her to take on others: Chamber Singers, academic chorus, and the Ascension Ringers handbell choir for some variety.
"Katie is the kind of student that we love to have here, someone who embraces cross-training: being able to learn to sing and perform in multiple styles of music,'" said Sangeetha Rayapati, music professor.
Griswold also found time to participate in theatre, working in the scene shop and performing.
Now a junior, she is a vocal music education major and theatre arts minor from North Aurora, Ill. She says participating in some many activities has helped her learn to balance her time with performances, classes and work.
