The perks of having an Augustana ID

All Augustana students are issued an ID card that not only serves as a practical tool for getting into the residence halls, serving as a meal ticket and checking out materials from the Tredway Library, it also allows students to take advantage of some other perks. Here are six of them.

Transportation on all Metro buses in the Illinois Quad Cities

The public transportation system in the Illinois Quad Cities was named "America's Best Transit System" in 2012. Augustana students have unlimited free access to the entire MetroLINK network just by showing their Augustana ID. The college is served by three routes with service to popular destinations, including downtown Rock Island, downtown Moline, Target on John Deere Road in Moline, Quad Cities International Airport and more. Admission to the Figge Art Museum

Stunning inside and out, the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, Iowa, is a showplace of art and architecture. The museum has over 4,000 works of art, ranging from the 16th century to the present, and is best known for its extensive collection of Haitian, Colonial Mexican and Midwestern art, particularly pieces by Thomas Hart Benton, Marvin Cone and Grant Wood, including the only self-portrait Wood ever painted.

Access to all college fitness facilities

Augustana maintains three fitness centers on campus: AugiePlex in Westerlin Residence Center, PepsiCo Recreation Center and Carver P.E. Center. Each of these facilities offers a wide variety of exercise equipment and options for students to reach their fitness goals.

Admittance to student life events

Each year, the Office of Student Life and Leadership plans and produces dozens of free concerts, movie nights and other activities, not to mention the ever-popular bingo games.

Admission to home athletic contests

It is difficult to find a time when one of the college's varsity athletic teams isn't playing on campus. Cheering on the Vikings is a great way to show your school spirit, hang out with friends and support your classmates.
