Review the Minors on Campus Policy
As summer programs and activities continue on campus, employees are reminded to review the college’s Minors on Campus Policy and the important responsibilities it outlines for programs serving minors.
The policy reinforces employees’ obligations under Illinois law to report any known or suspected child abuse and establishes requirements for programs involving minors, whether hosted directly by the college or by third parties using campus facilities.
Key program requirements include:
Registering college programs that will serve minors at least 14 days in advance, which you can do here.
• Completing required minor safety training for employees and volunteers.
• Maintaining background checks for program personnel.
• Establishing codes of conduct for staff and participants.
• Meeting supervision ratio standards for minors.
Employees involved in youth programs, camps, clinics, or events with minors should review the policy and ensure programs meet the outlined requirements. You can view the full policy under Augustana's Safety Policies.
