Sarah Ruhl residency canceled for now

Playwright Sarah Ruhl's residency at Augustana this weekend has been canceled due to illness. Her visit may be rescheduled in the spring.

Augustana will present Ruhl's Pulitzer finalist play, "In the Next Room, or the vibrator play,"  Feb. 2-3 at 7:30 p.m., and Feb. 4 at 1:30 p.m. at the Brunner Theatre.

There will be a post-performance panel discussion on Friday, Feb. 2, with Dr. Jennifer Popple, director of the production; Caroyln Martin, host of WVIK’s “Talking Art”; Shyan Devoss, student assistant director; and Laura Bergren, student dramaturge. The panel will take place at the theatre.

Tickets from that evening’s show are required for entry. This event will begin about 10:15 p.m. and will last an hour.

The Saturday playwrighting workshop with Ruhl has been postponed. Those who registered for the workshop will be notified when a new date is set.
