Summer travel canceled; fall programs open
The Office of International and Off Campus Programs and program leaders have decided to cancel their summer programs due to concerns for student safety and the unpredictability of travel conditions.
Faculty-led initiatives for the summer, as well as summer language programs have been canceled.
Although conditions are improving, advisories from the Department of State and Centers for Disease Control have not changed significantly since earlier this year. Travel warnings and restrictions are still high.
Augustana leaders now are focused on 2021-2022, hoping that access to the vaccine and the adoption of sound practices in the US and around the world will make traveling abroad safer.
Study abroad in 2021-2022
Registration is open for fall, January and spring cycles of that academic year.
Programs will remain open on a first-come, first-serve basis until rosters are full or the final deadline of May 10.
Passport Grants of $1000 are available for faculty led J-term programs and summer language programs. Students must be accepted to their program of choice in order to apply for the Passport Grant. Passport applications will be available once a student is accepted to their program of choice at studyabroad.augustana.edu beginning March 5 and are due by May 10, 2021.
