Trinity College to hold first commencement as Augustana affiliate

Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences will hold its first commencement and pinning ceremony as an affiliate of Augustana College on Aug. 26, recognizing 25 graduates earning the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

The ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. in Centennial Hall on Augustana’s campus, 3703 Seventh Ave., Rock Island. Parking will be available beside Centennial Hall in Lot E and in public and visitor parking lots.

The ceremony marks an important milestone following Augustana College’s acquisition of Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences, expanding opportunities for students pursuing BSN degrees while strengthening the region’s nursing workforce.

Augustana College President Andrea Talentino said expanding access to nursing education is an important step toward strengthening healthcare throughout the Quad Cities and beyond.

“Today marks a pivotal moment for our institution,” President Talentino said. “As we celebrate these graduates, we also celebrate the future of nursing and health education in our region. Together, we are creating new opportunities for students to pursue meaningful careers while helping meet the growing demand for compassionate, highly skilled health care professionals.”

Dr. Misty Stick-Mueller, dean of nursing and health sciences at Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences, praised the graduates for their dedication to developing their nursing skills and commitment to compassionate patient care.

“Congratulations to this wonderful group of nursing graduates,” Dr. Stick-Mueller said. “They have been impressive in their desire to learn and their willingness to participate in numerous voluntary events that have increased their nursing skills. From classroom to bedside, they are truly a compassionate and educated group who will be a wonderful addition to the nursing profession.”

President Talentino will offer welcome remarks, and Tayler Jackson, MSN, RN, Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences Class of 2025, will deliver the commencement address.
