I am passionate about experiential learning and helping students seek these opportunities for growth. Here at Augustana, I enjoy working with students looking to extend their college experience globally. My professional journey began in music education and led to international education as I started in Iowa, and then taught at schools in Abu Dhabi, China, and Nashville, all concluding back here in the Quad Cities where I was raised.

In my teaching career I became familiar with the International Baccalaureate program and I am still active as a DP Music examiner. I was also able to work as a service-learning coordinator and completed a graduate certificate in service- and community-based learning. International experiences and interest lead me to pursue a degree in Global Affairs to further my understanding of international organizations, conflicts, and policies.

Spending years living and teaching internationally, I know how rewarding, and at times challenging, being abroad can be both personally and professionally. Students interested in study away opportunities are encouraged to stop by CORE in the Olin Center to learn more about International & Off Campus Programs at Augustana College.
